The Ultimate Display Panel is a combination of a notecard reader, with a way to have long lines without worrying about the 255 character limit in reading notecards, combined with a resizeable display panel having three levels of prerezzing, and a number of additional features to serve a teacher's needs:

*There is a lot of variety and choice between virtual worlds and their capabilities. There was a need for a centralized virtual world finder that makes it possible to see what you can do with each of them. Every world has its pros and cons (I.E. - Eve Online allows things that Gaia does not, and vice versa).

*A simple web app has been developed that allows people to weigh pros and cons, capabilities.

SL and Skype voice troubleshooting

Let's face it. We all know that SL's voice isn't totally stable, but there are a few things you can do to clear up a bad connection on the fly or make a dead mike work.

Dead mike - If your SL client is not recognizing your microphone (most common reason for a dead mike), go into (on viewer 2) ME - PREFERENCES - SOUND AND MEDIA TAB - INPUT DEVICES TAB then select your microphone. It should say something similar to (Microphone (Logitech Voicemaster USB) as one of the selections. Usually the selection labeled "default" is not the one you want. Only try it as a last resort.

Can't get into your router? Default passwords here.

One of the most common problems people face is when they mess up settings on a router and need to change them. Once you do the hard reset (by depressing the tiny button on most models with a paper clip), it will revert to factory settings, and you need to know how to get into the admin account. Here is the cheat sheet that I use for this. It has almost all makes and models of router on it.
