How Many People Have Visited?

We started tracking traffic on the nonprofitcommons on March 20th, 2007. It was a trickle at first--10 or 12 visitors a day. I thought it might be of interest to give an overview of what we look like as a community. How many of us have come? What have we been using? How long do we stay?

A couple of weeks back, I started doing an analysis of the past two years. I thought it would be interesting give a brief over view of traffic and where that traffic has come from.

Over the last 19 months we've been rather busy. We've enjoyed nearly 37,500 visits and almost 74,000 page views. Our visitors spend over a minute and half on site. 29,327 unique users have come to the site (although this is a deceptive number--the same person could have visited the site on different IP addresses).

Our visitors come from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Japan, Netherlands. and China.

Stats in-world and out

How about the stats in-world? I don't want to ask you to give away any business info. However, does the popularity of the website and inworld land(s) parallel each other? Does one lead? Do you see what type of events go over big? How about times of the day?

I'm tracking some in-world stats for a little part of SL (Path of Support on Healthinfo Island) and am having fun with the numbers.

On a side note, I'm wondering about privacy statements (similar to websites') for land in virtual worlds. Just put up my thoughts at john-norris.net

I'm not privy to InWorld stats

I can't speak to the InWorld stats because that isn't one of my core responsibilities in the project. However, I do know that at one point there were discussions on how to best track metrics InWorld. Perhaps one of the other managers can speak to this?

InWorld Stats

We have just gotten the functionality to track inworld stats. Currently, they are getting about 100 avatars per day in the Aloft parcel and 50 per day in world. We don't have one month of data yet but if that continues to track, we should see comparable traffic in world as we see on the blog.

Thanks for the Stats

Thanks Malin. Should be interesting for you all to have those InWorld stats. I've only got 2 months worth myself, but even that is helpful.

Many thanks to Brownrice Internet for hosting the NPSL site.
