This Friday, December 9th, TechSoup's NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature Fred Fuchs who will lead us on a tour of Cisco’s WebEx and how it can be used for collaboration, conference and as a video recording application.

Intro to Live Streaming for the November 18 Nonprofit Commons

This Friday, November 18th, TechSoup's NonProfit Commons in Second Life will feature Michael Bailey (Marcus Llewellyn in SL) and an introduction to live streaming. In this hands-on workshop, you will be walked through the steps of using your computer to capture your screen or camera and stream live to YouTube. If you want to follow along, make sure you download and install the open-source app Open Broadcaster Software at https://obsproject.com and have a verified YouTube account that you can login to (http://www.youtube.com/verify).

Dr Douglas Maxwell of the MOSES Project for November 4th Nonprofit Commons Meeting

This Friday, November 4th, TechSoup's Nonprofit Commons in Second Life will feature Dr. Douglas Maxwell, who is the project director for the Military OpenSImulator Enterprise Strategy (MOSES). He is a mechanical engineer, computer engineer, and researches the proper applications of simulation based training technology for light infantry mission preparation. His presentation will cover the mission of the MOSES research project, and the areas of technology that have been developed and tested that could benefit the OpenSimulator community, as well as the benefits of a proposed software foundation and how it could enable growth.
